Tower Bridge is one the best-known landmarks in the world, crossing the River Thames near the equally famous Tower of London. Often considered to be the gateway to London (and often confuses with "London Bridge"), the bridge was built in 1886 and opened to the public in June 1894. The bridge is divided into upper and lower floors. The upper floor is now open to visitors who can cross the bridge with a view of the busy lower road deck, used by vehicles.
