Sakura Honoka is made out with only one cultivar and the cultivar’s name is [SHIZU-7132」. This cultivar has a natural sakura fragrance, which is a similar flavor to the Japanese sweet 「Sakuramochi」. This fragrance is not artificial, or no other ingredients are added to tea （like earl gray black tea) to produce this fragrance. This is the natural fragrance that this cultivar. This sakura fragrance is derived from a fragrant organic chemical compound called “coumarin”. Coumarin is easily affected by heat so when making green tea with this cultivar, it needs to be heated with a lower temperature and it has to be done in a short time.
