  • Jiujiang is located in the north of Jiangxi province, bordering Hubei, Hunan and Anhui provinces. Jiujiang, at the intersection of the Yangtze River and Beijing-Kowloon railway, is not only one of the ten port cities along the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, but is also one of China's first waterfront cities to open up to the outside world.
  • With a famous mountain (Mount Lu), river (Yangtze) and lake (Poyang), Jiujiang is a renowned cultural and tourist city, once one of three tea markets and four rice markets in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has a history of more than 2,200 years.
  • Jiujiang, covering an area of 18.8 thousand square kilometers and with a population of five million people, exercises jurisdiction over nine counties, two county-level cities and districts, two national scenic areas (Lushan and Lushanxihai) and two development regions (Jiujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Balihu New Zone).
  • Within the borders of Jiujiang, there are two national highways, five railways, six expressways and an airport. As an important feeder port for Shanghai, vessels from Jiujiang Port are allowed to ship directly to more than 50 countries and regions.
  • At present, Jiujiang is continuing to strengthen its economy through the development of industry, hoping to ensure that the main business income of its industrial enterprises will double in three years, and exceed RMB 1 trillion in five years.
  • The city also hopes to establish five national industrial parks and four industries creating over RMB 100 billion, cultivate more than 20 enterprises with assets over RMB 10 billion, more than 30 enterprises over RMB 5 billion, more than 100 enterprises over RMB 1 billion and more than 1,000 enterprises over RMB 100 million.
  • It’s expected that the main business income of the industrial enterprises of the city will ensure that Jiujiang qualifies as a member of the “trillion club” by 2017, producing a quarter of the revenue of the whole province.
  • Jiujiang has received many accolades, including a place in the list of China's top ten most charming cities, being named as an “Excellent City for Tourism in China”, “China's Most Attractive Financial Eco-City” and also the “Chinese City with the Greatest Investment Potential in the Eyes of Multinational Companies”.
  • In addition, Lushan has been crowned as a “World Cultural Landscape”, “World Geological Park” and a “UN Eco-Tourism Scenic Spot”.
