following product categories:<\/p><ul><li>Cosmetics<\/li><li>Ski waxes<\/li><li>Clothing textiles<\/li><li>Footwear<\/li><li>Waterproofing agents of textiles and footwear<\/li><\/ul><p>The regulation prohibits the production, import and sale of PFAS-containing products where safer alternatives are available.\u00a0<\/p><h3>Exemptions<\/h3><p>Certain exemptions are permitted for clothing textile and footwear products:<\/p><ul><li>Personal protective equipment (PPE) under EU Regulation 2016\/425, including PPE and combat equipment for the armed forces, internal security and civil protection services<\/li><li>Waterproofing agents used for re-waterproofing the PPE mentioned above<\/li><li>Clothing textiles and footwear that contain at least 20% post\u2011consumer recycled material, with PFAS content limited to residue levels originating from the recycled material and proportional to the amount
