Using a single LED, the patented mechanism can convert the product to either a lantern to give 360 degree of area light or a spotlight to give directional beam. The function can be selected simply by rotating the collar which in turn rotates the LED inside to give either area or directional light. Optical design with high efficacy gives no compromise performance on both lighting modes. Able to use single ultra-bright LED for both modes helps to reduce product cost.
