 	 Made with 100% of the ancient grape Barsaglina, once lost during the Philloxera epidemic, recovered with a project in partnership with University of Florence starting from some seeds found in the Medici family tombs. 	 Extremely rare Barsaglina 100%. The color is intense ruby red with elegant garnet veins. The nose offers an intriguing complexity made of small red fruits, wild strawberries, flower like rose, violet, enveloped in mineral, sweet spicy hints and light herbal nuances. Also interesting is the balsamic component that can be found in the background. In the mouth to surprise are the cleanliness and the delicacy of the sip. There is a velvety tannin that opens the way to a very pleasant mineral note. The finish is polite and leaves a nice feeling of freshness. 	 Good also for pairing with fish.

Piandaccoli estate stands in a places rich in history and tradition. In order to honor this past we cultivate vineyards exclusively with autochthonous varieties respecting people and environment.The cultivated varieties are mainly Sangiovese and the extremely rare autochthonous grapes Foglia Tonda, Pugnitello, Barsaglina, Mammolo, Colorino, ancient grapes once lost with phylloxera epidemic of 19th century and then saved and recovered with a research project in partnership with Florence University, starting from some grape's seeds found in the Medici Family tombs. So these were the grapes mainly used for the production of wines for Florentine aristocracy, specially Medici family.
We believe in high quality and natural product with strong tie with our land and Tuscan identity. For this reason in our cultivations we only use organic and biodynamic mixtures and process (even if we are not certified yet), preserving the nature and emphasizing the natural vocation of our amazing and unique terroir, rich in minerals with some prehistoric canyons extending within the boundaries of the estate. The company size is about 90 hectares, 20 with vineyards, the rest for olive groves, orchards, vegetable gardens and woodland, in order to maintain a natural balance in the earth.
The harvesting methods are not of intensive agriculture, so we can preserve an exceptional quality of the grapes and then we use the latest technics and highest available technology in cellar for keeping this quality high without invasive actions, keeping very low quantity of sulfites and avoid other substances.
