This is a dual-mode Bluetooth 4.0 low energy module which can be connected to traditional Bluetooth radio products as well as the new generation of Bluetooth low energy devices. It is based on the CSR8510 chip set which provides HCI application interface through UART that can be used in conjunction with a host controller who runs the specific Bluetooth stack software to fit various applications. The on board antenna eliminates the need of matching circuit on the main board and therefore save the costs of production tests. Besides of the UART interface, there is an USB interface that allows the module to connect to a host system as Bluetooth dangle and hence enable it to communicate with the new generation Bluetooth low energy devices.
