- Light control:When there is a good level of daylight ingress lighting can be automatically dimmed whilst maintaining the illumination level and can be switched off automatically when presence is no longer detected.
- Lighting controls can provide significant energy saving, assist user comfort, or both, enhancing a lighting scheme when combined with the correct selection of luminaires.
- Movement Detection:Presence sensors in all luminaires ensure excellent detection coverage, so that Smart luminaires turn on when movement is detected and stay on whilst the room is occupied. The integral Smart External Sensor allows the luminaires to be turned off or dimmed to a low output level when the area is vacated. As soon as the sensor detects movement, the luminaire will revert to full output.
- PIR is the most common motion sensor to control lighting as they can be used in many different and wide applications. Controlling office or factory lighting is the norm for this technology where infer red sensors can switch lights off and on as have someone is in the area. This type of control managed to get a poor reputation in the early days as building occupants where often left in the dark jump up and down trying to get the lighting back on. These days the detection angles are much better and with a good design planned out correctly the areas should be well covered to “see” anyone working within the office or factory space. Security lighting is another area where you will find PIR technology commonplace.
