The stretch board allows controlled effective, stretching of the calf muscles to reduce tightness before and after exercise and therefore reduce the risk of injury to the calf, shin and ankle. It also acts as a rehabilitation aid for Achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, shin splints and calf strain. Flexible calf muscles are important to allow a full range of motion in the lower leg, ankle and foot. Tight calf muscles increase the pressure on the Achilles tendon, the plantar fascia and the small muscles in the shin which cause shin splints. The angle of the slant board can be quickly and easily adjusted to one of three angles: 15 degrees, 25 degrees and 35 degrees depending on the level of stretch your calves will allow. The heel cups prevent the foot from slipping and a "Bobbled" foot plate provides a massaging effect and increases grip. When flipped upside down, the slant board has an anatomical shape that can be used as a back support for your chair.
