This edible bird's nest is a kind of imperial medicines. The nest is made purely by the Swiftlet bird's (scientifically named Collocalia) saliva secretion. In previous, it is usually brought from the caves near by the shoreline cliffs. But, these days, people specially build a birds' house to maintain the purity and the quality. After they are cropped, the birds' nests are manually collected from the house nest until the hairs and dirt are cleaned from the nest in the manufacturing process.
