Ganzhou is located in Southern Jiangxi. It has an area of 39,400 square kilometers and a population of 9.27 million people. The city is known as an ancient capital, “the Cradle of Hejia” and “Rare Earth Kingdom”. It has jurisdiction over 18 counties, 3 national economic and technological development zones and 1 comprehensive bonded zone.
The docks of Ganzhou are located at the east of the city, while the south of Ganzhou is the Pearl River Delta, the west is Hunan and the northeast is the path to the Yangtze River Delta. Ganzhou connects the Yangtze River Economic Zone and the Southern China Economic Zone. It is composed of 4 provinces, namely Gan, Yue, Min and Xiang, which are areas of regional modernization, central cities and important traffic hubs of the southern China.
According to the State Council report issued on June 28, 2012, Ganzhou will enjoy the policy of development to the west of the city, making Ganzhou the center of the special zone of the old liberated areas. Ganzhou is in the Jiangxi Comprehensive Bonded Zone that is the only zone based around an ever-improving platform.
