In the northern suburbs of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province’s capital city, the Nanchang Economic and Development Zone, established in 1992, secured State Council approval in 2000 as the first state-level economic and technological development zone in the province. Its administrative jurisdiction covers 158 square kilometers. Almost 300,000 people live there.
The Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone benefits from a solid industrial base, unique location, strong transport links, beautiful ecological environment, impressive infrastructure and abundant human resources. It forms a town of industry, innovation and harmony suitable for living and work, integrating industrial enterprises, R&D, universities and ecological areas.
During China’s 12th Five-Year Plan, the Nanchang Economic Development Zone focuses on overall requirements of “establishing the zone with industry, enriching the zone with tertiary industries and activating the zone further”. Its proponents hope to lead in building Nanchang’s core growth while striving to promote project investment, industry-town integration and increased efficiency. The results will form a backbone of industrial growth, a foundation of modern integrated logistics and a flourishing place full of new development opportunities and space for entrepreneurs.
