Large Ebony Round Raystray

Cast in a timeless round silhouette, framed with a raised rim, and produced in a “Kosen-hari” design, this serveware is screened in slender and subdued lines extending outwards from the center for a classic and homey appeal. The presented tray is made with a unique pasting style so the color of the graining changes with the angle of the light. The “Kosen-hari” design features Tsuki-ita, wood veneer sheets, with a corner cut in an acute angle and pasted around from the center, so once the piece is held up and tipped to various angles, the graining would appear in different hues, with shiny rays of lights running across, to create an illusion of beams coming out from the center.
