Ryubundo Silver Teapot Japanese silver pots are famous for the purity of silver and the meticulous craftsmanship.Here is a Japanese pure silver teapot with a charm that cannot be matched by ordinary counterfeits.The silver pot comes with a box, and the lid is inscribed with "Nan Liao", which means fine silver. The shape is a Chinese Yixing horizontal pot, so the box is inscribed with "Yixing Zisha Xie Jixu", which is the most familiar pot shape for tea lovers. This teapot was produced by Ryubundo, the notable Japanese metalworking workshop known for producing high-quality iron teapots (tetsubin), so it is extremely rare.  龍文堂純銀急須 (茶壺) 日本銀壺無論是銀料的精純，抑或是工藝的細緻，都是宇內聞名的。這裏介紹一個日本純銀急須(茶壺)，氣度神韻，非一般仿冒品能及。銀壺連箱，蓋寫「南燎」，即是精銀之意。型制為中國宜興水平壺，故箱蓋寫上「宜興紫砂寫急須」，是茶人最親切的壺型。 此壺產自專造鐵壺的「龍文堂」，宜乎罕見。

Shigaraki Tea Set This is a set of seven pieces Japanese sencha tea set, including a teapot, a cooling bowl and 5 small tea cups. This complete set is rarely found in the market. The set is the work of a famous Shigaraki artist called Takahashi Shunsai ( 高橋春齋). Shigaraki ware is generally fired at a temperature of 1,400 degrees, which is a high-temperature firewood firing. Shigaraki ware is recognized to have the special effect of raising the quality of tea and wine. When brewing oolong, it can enhance the aroma. For liquor, it can reduce the spiciness which is amazing. The ceramics come with the original wooden box. Suzuki Shuzendo Fuji-shaped and Double-horse PatternKettle Made by the century-old Nambu workshop "Suzuki Shuzendo," this tetsubin is not only precious but also has many valuable features.First, the inscription "Shuzendo Suzuki-made (主善堂鈴木造) " is inscribed. The last three generations of Suzuki Shuzendo (the eleventh and thirteenth generations) used the three characters "Chubei(忠兵衛) " in cursive script as their inscription. Before that, they used "Nambu Suzuki-made (南部鈴木造)" . This "Shuzendo Suzuki-made" seal is even older.Nambu iron kettles often feature horses as decoration. This kettle features not only twin horses but also Mount Fuji, making it especially rare.Third, Fuji-shaped kettles with a small capacity are rare. This one holds approximately 1,000 cc of water, which is rarely fpound.  主善堂富士型雙馬紋小壺出自南部百年工房「鈴木主善堂」，光這條件已夠矜貴了，但此作品還有其他珍貴之處。 首先是款銘「主善堂鈴木造」，鈴木主善堂近三代 (十一及十三代)用草書「忠兵衛」三字為銘，之前則用「南部鈴木造」，而這個「主善堂鈴木造」的印，則會更早。 南部鐵壺很喜歡用馬來做裝飾，此壺雙馬紋之餘，更有富士山紋飾，是比較少見的。第三，細容量的富士型壺不多見，此壺容量滿水約1,000cc，甚是難得。

Setoyaki Tea Set This is a set of six pieces of Japanese sencha tea set, including a teapot, a cooling bowl and 4 small tea cups. It is the work of a famous Setoyaki artist called Kougaku YOSHINO (吉野香岳 ).This set is believed to be made around 1977 by the artist at his old age (over 70 years old). The set comes with the original wooden box. Arisaka Rice Stalk Tetsubin Featuring the square seal with rounded corners inscribed "Made by Arisaka" (有阪造), this is the earliest known seal from the Arisaka Workshop. The kettle is a masterpiece of ingenuity, meticulously shaped like a plump bundle of rice stalks with lines that flow with effortless grace. The splayed tips of the grain naturally form the skirt (skirt-shaped base) of the kettle, creating a seamless, organic harmony entirely free from any trace of artificial carving. Designs that so flawlessly merge natural forms with functional utility are exclusive to heirloom antiques with over a century of history, and very few such pieces survive today. Oribe-ware Sencha Tea Set Oribe-ware is a major branch of Japanese Mino ceramics (alongside Shino and Seto-guro), representing a highly distinctive glaze style in historical Japanese pottery. Mino artisans and kilns — such as Hachiro Suzuki and Seizo Kato — mostly gathered along the border of Aichi and Gifu Prefectures. Utilizing local clay, water, and firewood, alongside unique kiln-building techniques (including the use of semi-underground kilns, flame-dividing pillars, and flame-raising walls), they masterfully combined copper-green and iron glazes. This craft created everyday tea pottery with a unique aesthetic that has been widely cherished worldwide for centuries. This tea set includes a side-handled teapot (kyusu), a water cooling bowl (yuzamashi), and five small cups. Shoulder-shaped (Katatsuki) "Pine, Crane &amp; Tortoise" Iron Kettle This exquisite small kettle is crafted using the lost-wax casting method by Mikio Arai, the second-generation master of the renowned "Arai Workshop" in the Yamagata region. The kettle features three traditional motifs: flying cranes, the legendary long-tailed green hair tortoise (Minogame), and a century-old pine tree. With longevity as its clear and auspicious theme, this piece makes an impeccable gift or an honorable present for an elder's milestone birthday. The beauty of the lost-wax casting technique (Rōgata) lies in the mold-making process. While the wax model is being shaped, artisans can meticulously add three-dimensional adornments — such as a dragon, a bridge, a small hut, or classic motifs like crabs and tortoises. Kiyomizu-yaki Blue &amp; White Tea Set This set includes a teapot with a back handle, a cooling bowl and five small cups. It is a rare complete tea set.The author is Kanzan Denshichi, a representative potter of Kiyomizu-yaki (Kyoto-yaki), who was active in the Meiji period.Kanzan Denshichi used blue and white brushwork to imitate Chinese Ming and Qing ceramics; the long-tailed phoenix pattern, the blue and white color is uniform, and the brushstrokes are dense.The bottom of the cup is signed "Kanzan Kato", which is the signature used by Kanzan in his early years. It is estimated that this set of teaware should have a history of more than one hundred years, made in the Meiji period or earlier.  清水燒青花煎茶器套裝 清水燒 （京燒）是京都府燒製的陶瓷，是日本瓷器中最接近中國景德鎮風格的作品；無論青花、五彩、紅釉等色彩，以至題材例加山水題詩，都很似中國的瓷器。 這套茶器包後把壺、湯冷和五只小杯，難得一套完整的煎茶器。 作者幹山傳七，清水燒代表性的陶藝家，活躍於明治時期。 幹山傳七以青花筆法，仿效中國明清陶瓷；長尾鳳凰花紋，青花色澤均勻，筆觸綿密。 杯底落款「加藤幹山」，為幹山早期用之署名。推測茶器應有過百年歷史，明治時期或更早。

Bizen Hohin (Handleless Teapot): Coiled Dragon Knob The hohin is a traditional piece of Bizen ware teaware. Featuring a coiled dragon as decoration, it showcases a signature motif frequently explored by Bizen ceramic artists. This particular hohin boasts a style both rustic and refined. The layered marks left by fire and smoke evoke a profound sense of the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic.The most exceptional aspect of this piece is the finishing technique used on the body. It is highly evident that the artisan pinched the inner and outer walls of the teapot using their fingertips, leaving a continuous pattern of fingerprints as the primary decoration. This technique serves a dual purpose: it prevents the surface from being overly smooth while subtly refining the wall's thickness— a truly unique and masterful approach. About the Artist:Koyama Gessen (born 1959) is an official member of the Okayama Prefecture Bizen Ware Ceramic Association. He studied under both the second generation (1910–1996) and third generation (1943 –) of Fujiwara Rakuzan. In 1988, he began using the artist name "Gessen," and in 1997, he officially established his own independent kiln to produce works of his own distinctive style.  備前寶瓶： 盤龍摘 寶瓶為傳統的備前燒茶具，以盤龍為裝飾，亦是備前作者常見的主題。此寶瓶風格古樸精緻，煙火相叠，頗具日式侘寂味道。最特別的是瓶身的修飾技法，很明顯的是以二指指尖在瓶壁內外對揑，以延綿的指紋為最主要的紋飾，一方面使瓶壁不致過於平滑，另一方面亦修飾了瓶壁的厚度，這是很獨特的技法。作者: 小山月泉(1959年出生)，岡山縣備前燒陶友會正式會員。師事藤原樂山二代 (1910 -1996）及三代(1943 –），1988年自開始用「月泉」稱號，1997年正式獨立建窰，生產自己特色的作品。

Okamaya Gong-shaped Tetsubin Koizumi Nizaemon (Okamaya) is the most prominent iron kettle master (Kamashi) in Nambu, Japan. Dictating trends and style, his creations were highly coveted by the Japanese elite as symbols of prestige. This particular tetsubin is crafted in Okamaya's traditional "Dora" (Gong) shape by the 11th-generation master, Koizumi Nizaemon (Koizumi Takehiro). While the kettle features a plain, unadorned surface (suhada) that may seem simple at first glance, the artisan's exquisite craftsmanship reveals itself in the subtlest of details. Take, for instance, the meticulous arrangement of small indentations shown in the image. This is by no means an accidental flaw. In the final stages of molding, the master used a toothpick-sized wooden stick to painstakingly apply dots of clay. The resulting texture emerges beautifully after the iron is cast. Far from being a random happenstance, this texture is the product of deliberate, painstaking labor — perfectly embodying the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi. Furthermore, like all masterpieces from Okamaya, this kettle is forged using the finest Nambu iron, natural raw lacquer from Joboji, the studio's proprietary molding clay, and premium Shizukuishi white charcoal. Its quality is incomparable to that of ordinary studios. With a compact capacity of ~1000 cc, a rustic texture, and a refined silhouette, this piece is a perfect match for the elegant and serene tea master. 御釜屋銅鑼型鐵瓶 小泉仁左衛門 (御釜屋) 是日本南部最重要的釜師，潮流風尚，日本權貴也喜歡擁有一個，以作炫耀。 鐵瓶為御釜屋傳統造款（銅鑼型），作者為11代小泉仁左衞門，小泉岳廣。此壺素肌紋飾，看似無甚技巧，但從一小處便看到作者精緻的技藝。請看圖中一組小洞排列，這絕不是偶然出現，是在模具最後階段，用牙簽般的小木棍，沾泥點上去，然後鑄鐵後呈現的效果。這並非無心插柳偶爾得之，而是細心勞作營造的，正正表現出日本人的侘寂美學。除此以外，正如其它御釜屋鐵瓶一樣，此壺用了南部最頂級的鐵材、淨法寺天然生漆、工房獨有的製模陶土、與及上等的雫石白炭鑄造而成，絕非一般工房的鐵瓶可以比擬。小巧的容量（約1000 cc）、樸實的肌理、精緻的外型，正合儒雅恬靜的茶藝師之用。

Century-old Kettle by Nizaemon Nizaemon is the most important tetsubin master in Nambu, Japan. Their works are highly sought-after by Japanese nobles and dignitaries. This kettle is the work of the 8th Generation. It has a hanging-tail shape and a plain body. An exquisite and rarely found century-old tetsubin.  八代小泉仁左衛門尾垂型鐵壺 小泉仁左衛門是日本南部最重要的釜師，潮流風尚，日本權貴也喜歡擁有一個，以作炫耀。 這壺是八代小泉之作，尾垂型，素肌，小巧精緻，鐵材精錬，是難得一見的百年老壺。

Old Kutani ware are very different from those nowadays, as they are often more elaborate and with more details shown in their pattern. Kunzan Kobo Big Arare-pattern Satetsu (Iron Sand) Tetsubin A new creation by Sasaki Kazuo, the third-generation master artisan of Kunzan Kobo and a certified Japanese "Traditional Craftsman." This 900 cc small iron kettle features Onimen (demon face) lug rings and a beautifully crafted handle, exuding nobility and exquisite refinement. Made from newly sourced Nambu iron sand, the kettle gleams with a brilliant luster. Each individual arare (hailstone) bump shines spectacularly, looking as if it has been meticulously polished with sandpaper to catch the light. When tapped, it produces a crisp, clear, and resonant metallic ring, a testament to the premium quality of the ore. Water boiled in this kettle tastes exceptionally pure, smooth, and mellow. Hexagon-shaped Kettle by Sanyantang Autographed "Fairy from the East (東仙)", the kettle maker is one of the principal masters of Sanyantang. Sanyantang is very productive such that most of their works carry only the name of Sanyantang. This kettle carries the name of the kettle maker, suggesting that it is a more important piece. Judging from its special shape, solid thick wall and unique handle design, this kettle is a master piece from Sanyantang.  三巖堂六方鐵壺 款銘東仙，為三巖堂其中一位主理人。三巖堂產量頗富，以致作品品位較低。此壺不落堂名而落作者，顯見是較重要的作品。觀其造型特別，壺壁厚實，手把設計尤其别致，當不能以一般作品視之。

Mini Jujube-shaped Iron Kettle Recently, many tea lovers have been searching for mini iron kettles, drawn to their compact size, practicality, and ease of use. Compared to their larger counterparts, they are much lighter and easier to lift, hold, and pour. This particular mini kettle is a brand-new piece with a capacity of only 600 cc — a rare find, considering standard small kettles usually hold around 1000 cc. It is the perfect size for a solo tea session. Its petite form inherently makes it more exquisite, lightweight, and truly extraordinary. The artisan behind this piece is "Koyuki" (Little Snow) from the renowned Arai Kobo workshop in Yamagata. Koyuki is the daughter of Mikio Arai (荒井幹雄) and is one of the very few female kamashi (kettle smiths) in the craft. She personally shared with me that she handles the entire kettle-making process herself — from the initial design and molding to the iron casting and lacquer finishing. What makes this kettle truly special is the "lost-wax casting" (rōgata) technique. Holding it in your hands and examining it up close, the difference between this and standard sand casting is immediately apparent. Furthermore, its iron lid perfectly matches the texture and motifs of the kettle's body. Exuding a distinct literary charm, this mini kettle feels elegant, poised, and grounded — a beautiful contrast to more rugged, robust pieces. 小棗型小鐵瓶 近年很多朋友都愛找一些小鐵瓶，喜歡它們小巧實用，使用便利，相較大鐵瓶，能輕鬆提握倒水。這把小壺為新品，只有600 cc，並不多見 （一般小壺約1000 cc)，一人份剛好。它的小巧註定比其他更精緻輕巧，不同凡響。作者「小雪」 ，屬山形「荒井工房」。「小雪」是荒井幹雄的女兒，是很少有的女性釜師。她親口告訴我，整個造壺過程，由起樣成型，到鑄鐵掃漆，都是她親自處理的。此壺特別之處是「蜡型鑄造」，捧在手上近距離觀察，真是看出與砂鑄不同的。另外，它的鐵蓋，與壺身肌理紋飾一致。這個小壺甚有文人氣息，儒雅持重，與一些剛健粗獷的作品不同。

Meiji Kutani Ware — Imitation of Ming Dou Color Tea Set When talking about Kutani ware, we need to know that Kutani is a place name, referring to Kutani Village in Ishikawa Prefecture, west of Tokyo. Meiji Kutani is Kutani porcelain produced in the Kanazawa and Enuma areas of Ishikawa Prefecture during the Meiji period (1868-1912), and it is more than a hundred years old. This set of Meiji Kutani includes one handle pot, five small cups and a cooling bowl, a complete Japanese Sencha set. The inscription "Daming Wanli Annual System" is to remind users that I am imitating the system of the Ming Dynasty in China. This hundred-year old tea set in blue and white and with overglazed multi-color is a precious teaware worthy of collecting.  明治九谷燒 — 仿明鬥彩茶器 談九谷燒，我們要知道九谷是地方名，是指東京以西石川縣的九谷村。 而明治九谷是指明治時期(1868-1912年)石川縣金澤、江沼地區生產的九谷瓷器，年代距今超過一百年。 這套明治九谷包含一側把壺、五只小杯和一湯泠，原整的日本煎茶套裝。 底款書「大明萬曆年製」，當然是寄託的款志，是提醒用家，我是仿中國明朝的製法。
