QIMA Limited

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) manages the Saudi Product Safety Program called "SALEEM". The SALEEM program is concerned with the safety of products entering the Saudi market, which is why the program is called SALEEM. In Arabic, SALEEM indicates that the product is safe, secure, and free of flaws that may directly or indirectly harm individuals, society, or the environment. Under SALEEM, product and shipment conformity program is operated via an online system called SABER. SABER has been gradually implemented by technical regulation (TR) since January 2019. The transition was completed in February 2020. Importers of products regulated by the TR are required to register the products in the SABER system to obtain the Certificate of Conformity, after passing the assessment. All product consignments intended to be imported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must present the Certificates of Conformity at Saudi Customs for a smooth clearance. QIMA: A SASO-Approved Conformity Assessment Body QIMA is one of the SASO approved Conformity Assessment Bodies (CB) and is authorized to issue Certificates of Conformity for products exporting from the following regions: Asia and AustraliaEuropeAmericas (North and South)Middle East and North African countriesAbout QIMA QIMA is a leading provider of supply chain compliance solutions, that partners with brands, retailers and importers to secure, manage and optimize their global supply network. Defined as materials or products intended to come into contact with food and beverages, FCM is already in contact with them, or may reasonably be expected to come into contact with them. FCM can be found in the machinery that processes our food and beverages, the packaging that carries them, and the equipment we use for storage, cooking, and eating food and drink. FCM must not change the food and drink they are in contact with or endanger human health. Globally, different markets maintain their own FCM regulations to prevent products being placed on the market that alter our food or drink, bring about a deterioration in its organoleptic characteristics, or release hazardous substances. SGS’s global network of laboratories can support your products' compliance with the FCM regulations governing your target market such as: EuropeUSACanadaMercosur (Southern Common Market)Asia Pacific RegionComplying with technical specifications alone may not be sufficient to place FCM in certain markets. Some jurisdictions have implemented strict measures and controls by only recognizing designated laboratories to conduct testing and/or certification bodies (CB) to certify the FCMs are in compliance before allowing these products to access their markets. In all regions, compliance with FCM can be a complex process for economic operators. To avoid costly non-compliance, suppliers are advised to seek professional regulatory assistance for their target market. Food Contact Materials (FCM) services from SGSensure compliance with requirements for sale and distribution in global markets.
