Description
Take a guided tour of the brain to discover what happens to specific structures when alcohol is consumed in excess. This information will equip you with the knowledge to make informed choices in relation to alcohol consumption. The anatomical brain structures include the cerebral cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, medulla, frontal lobes, hypothalamus and nerve cells. We take a look inside the developing brain, to examine the effects alcohol has on these structures as they grow and develop, and how the physiological effects of alcohol can produce behavioural changes.
  • We also examine BAC, or blood alcohol concentration, and how you can estimate what your BAC might be when consuming alcohol.
  • After viewing the video, to assist your understanding of this topic, you can complete a quiz consisting of 20 multiple choice questions.
