This air preheater is the most important productivity tool in carbon black manufacture. The increase in reactor air preheat temperature increases yield, strengthens reaction conditions, saves quench water and improves the heating value of tail-gas for better utilization. The high cost of feedstock is spreading the use of the air preheater at even higher temperature in the range from 900 to 950°C.
