Screen printing, as the name suggests, was originally made with silk cloth. Cloth or mesh is stretched and secured to a frame (usually wood, sometimes plastic or aluminum). In printing, the ink is dragged across the screen by a piece of hard rubber called a squeegee. The ink is dragged across the screen and then pushed through the holes between the fibers of the screen to the surface below. The amount of ink deposited on the screen largely depends on the mesh size of the screen. For colored paper with a textured surface, screen printing is better than offset printing; digital printing and/or foil stamping are better. Contact us today to get a quote.
