- The Dragonfly S05 Sonar is composed of a long-range ultrasonic sensor and controller. According to different functional requirements, the number of sensors can be flexibly configured to realize obstacle recognition and monitoring within 5 meters of the vehicle and improve driving safety. PerceptIn is using those sonar sensor on PerceptIn autonomous vehicle which call Dragonfly Car for the passive obstacle avoidance part. Its stable performance and fast reaction time make the whole system safer.
- Ultrasonic sensors work on the pulse-echo principle. the sensors transmit short ultrasonic impulses which are reflected by surrounding objects. Advanced digital processing evaluates signal attributes of the reflected echoes and thus enabling state-of-the-art object detection in terms of both speed and robustness. Cross echo signal triangulation and evaluation improve the measurement accuracy. This product allows for multichannel operation, providing high measuring update rates and avoiding mutual interference.
