    This sustainable dye is an eco-friendlier and more effective alternative to petrochemical-based and plant-based dyes, developed by using biosynthesis and genetic engineering techniques on bacteria. The harvesting time is reduced from a year to just 3-5 days. Through the use of genetically engineered bacteria and crafted redox-responsive additives, unique and precise color hues of this sustainable dye can be obtained. This innovation also enables direct dyeing on textile yarn during biosynthesis of the dyes in situ. By being capable of producing these dyes in close contact with fiber surface, the dye uptake and adherence are enhanced to achieve good color uniformity and colorfastness, meeting the highest ISO standards, enhancing safety and durability while avoiding allergic reactions, with savings in water consumption by eliminating the need for conventional water-based dyeing.
