Description
  • 2013 was a very good vintage, yielding a harvest of high quality aszú berries completely interwoven by botrytis.
  • The base wine is mainly Furmint and Hárslevelű. Aszú berries were added to the fermenting base wine, soaked for 24 hours, then cold-settled for 2 days. The wine was tank-fermented, then matured in first and second-fill 5 hectolitre barrels made by three different Hungarian coopers.
  • It has a highly complex fragrance with botrytis due to the aszú berries, orange peel and brittle, figs and exotic flowers, with a hint of dill at the end. Very pure fruity flavour upon tasting, with orange, quince and pear. The palate finishes with a lime and grapefruit flourish at the end, leaving a matured, round mouthfeel.

Only skilled harvesters are able to find them. They pass through the differently located vineyards two to four times to catch each aszú berry at its optimal state.
  • This incredibly time-consuming selection method guarantees the best quality for our wines. Aszú harvesting is possibly the most labour-intensive harvest in the world – harvesters can pick a mere 6-10kg a day.
