    Description
    MAILLY GRAND CRU CHAMPAGNE
    • The village of Mailly was classified as a GRAND CRU site in 1920. Situated on the northern slopes of the "Montagne de Reims", the historical heart of the Champagne area.
    • Due to the high content of chalk in the deeper subsoil, moisture in the ground is perfectly drained and the temperature regulated. Chalk gives a good acidity and mineral notes into the wines.
    • Many of the vineyards in Mailly are facing north, but warmer winds do create a microclima, which has a very positive impact on the ripening process of the grapes.
    • In Mailly is produced a majority of Pinot Noir and some Chardonnay. Such wines have mineral freshness, combined with a vinous, well structured full body.
    • Mailly Grand Cru Champagne is a blend of 85 per cent of Pinot Noir and 15 per cent of Chardonnay. A wine with a golden robe and a creamy mousse. It has a fruity nose of Pinot Noir, with notes of cooked green apples, candied lemon peel, fresh almonds, pastry, bread crust and even dark chocolate, paired with floral and mineral notes.
    • On the palate, a fruity freshness of yellow fruits and a well balanced acidity. A wine of complex vinousity and a good length.
