Compass Feature:

The rotating compass ring is so designed as to provide a rough indication of direction.   You may use this compass function by checking the position of the sun. Simply set the hour hand to the current time of your area, point the hour hand in the direction of the sun.  Rotate the compass ring to set "S"(South) to the middle point of the arc between the 12 o'clock marker and the time scale indicated by the hour hand. The direction marks on the compass ring indicate the corresponding directions.  Set the arc to the left of 12 o'clock marker in the morning and right of 12 o'clock marker in the afternoon.

Precautions: For such activities as mountaineering and orienteering which require very accurate directions, be sure to use a conventional magnetic compass with this watch.  You are reminded that the rotating compass ring is designed for use in the Northern Hemisphere only. In areas at a latitude lower than the tropic of Cancer, it may not indicate directions properly depending on the season.
