The Pinot 46% presents the Old Kempton house style through the prism of Tasmanian Pinot Noir casks. The pinot casks produce a bright vibrant style of single malt whisky that captures the blackcurrant, mulberry, and spiced cherry flavours of the wine and balances them with a beautiful depth of malt and oak. The Pinot Noir casks are matured for a relatively short period of time (4.5 years) to maintain the vibrancy and avoid the whisky becoming dominated by tannins that make it unpleasantly dry and astringent.
