Defintion for Grade A
1. First life original casings
2. No significant ozone or weather cracking; no ply/ belt/ rubber separation; no section repairs; no exposed steel cord; no sidewall damage; no bead damage or distortion; no run-flat condition
3. Maximum of two nail holes or similar type injuries up to 1/4" are allowable in the crown area only

 

Definition for Grade B

1. Conditions are the same as for Grade A except the followings. 
2. Section repairs are allowable. 
3. Rusting or corrosion casued by tread cuts not exceeding one inch in diameter; maximum or four nail holes or similar injuries up to 1/4" in crown area; minor injuries on sidewall area (steel cord intact); maximum two damages (each less than 2") to bead areas are acceptable.  

 

Definition for Grade R1 (Once retreaded) 

1. Previously retreaded casings
2. Section repairs are allowable. 
3. Minor injuries on sidewall areas (without damagind steel cord) are allowable.
