Wang Zeli (1858-1931), styled Lifu, was the founder of WangMou and Ronghe Distillery. As the leader of Maotai's militia, he enjoyed great local prestige. His family's wealth began with his grandfather's salt and liquor businesses, eventually making them the wealthiest in the region. Being the only son, Wang Zeli inherited the family legacy. In 1879, he co-founded the "Rongtaihe" distillery with his family's old brewery, producing Moutai liquor (known as Wangmou). He personally managed production and sales. (Excerpt from Guizhou Provincial Annals) Wang Zeli's grandson Wang Zongde later inherited the original "Wangmou" recipe and craftsmanship to craft this "intangible cultural heritage" liquor.
"Intangible Cultural Heritage Beauty" sauce-flavored liquor,Branded new name WONGMOU, produced by China Guizhou Maotai Town Ronghe Distillery (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., is sourced from Wang Zongde Distillery in Maotai Town, the core production area of China's liquor capital. The distillery leverages its unique natural conditions and employs the traditional sauce-flavored liquor (Kunsha) brewing technique, which has been passed down for over a century (one production cycle per year, two grain inputs, nine steams, eight fermentations, and seven distillations), to craft this exquisite liquor.
