STC is approved by JMHLW and Japan Toy Association. Designated toys that are intended for infants in Japan are required to comply with the mandatory safety requirements in the “Specifications and Standards for Foods, Foods Additives, etc.” under the Food Sanitation Law, including;

• Section III: apparatus, Containers and Packaging, and/or
• Section IV: Toys 

Japan Toy Safety Standard (ST Standard) and the ST Mark Scheme established by the Japan Toy Association provide toy manufacturers, retailers and consumers with additional safeguard for toys intended for children up to the age of 14.
