Officers from the Office of Trade Relations and Public Communication (OTPC) of the Customs and Excise Department attended the 26/27th SAFE Working Group (SWG) Meeting held by the World Customs Organization (WCO) from 11 to 13 April 2022 to review AEO international standards.
Under the pandemic, the SWG Meeting was conducted virtually and participated by 170 delegates representing Customs administrations, the private sectors and international organizations concerned. Among others, the SWG Meeting was responsible for developing the two-year work plan and kicking start the new round of review for the SAFE Framework of Standards (FoS), which would be conducted at every 3-year cycle.
OTPC will continue to actively engage in essential international discussions to keep abreast of the global development of the AEO Programme and Mutual Recognition Arrangements with a view to providing updated information and more facilitative measures to stakeholders in the global supply chain.
