Description
The Longnan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the replacement for the Jiangxi Longnan Economic and Technological Development Zone, was established in July 2000.
In 2010, the Longnan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Dongjiang, was approved by the provincial development and reform commission as a pilot; and in 2013, it was approval by the state council meant that the zone was upgraded to be a national economic and technological development zone.
The completed planning area of Longnan is 150 square kilometers, with a 9.3 square-kilometer zone having been built up to now. Thus far, 253 companies have settled in, including more than 70 highly specialized enterprises, each with a focus on a different area, including: the development of new rare earth materials, electronic information, modern light industries and food and drug industries.
Longnan has convenient transportation links and infrastructure that functions perfectly. It is equipped with a national inland customs, inspection and quarantine institution and is the bridge for Jiangxi Province to the outside world. It is also the first choice for coastal industrial transfer.
In 2013, Longnan’s main business income was US$2.7 billion and total imports and exports of up to US$440 million.
