Description
- The National Nanchang Xiaolan Economic-technological Development Zone lies in the territory of Nanchang County, was established in March 2002 and became a Province-level Development Zone in March 2006. It was upgraded to a National-level Economic and Technological Development Zone in July 2012 after being approved by the State Council.
- The planned area of Xiaolan Economic Development Zone is 200 square kilometers and the built-up area is 22 square kilometres. The Xiaolan Development Zone implements the development mode “one zone with three parks” and forms a mutually-promoting development pattern. There are various areas within the zone, including Xiangtang Logistics Park, Wuyang Pioneer Park for small and medium enterprises and Nanxing Binjiang Industrial Park.
- The development zone supports Nanchang County in its aim of becoming one of the top 100 counties in China by sticking to the development mode which combines new industrialization and urbanization. In 2013, the gross industrial output value of Xiaolan was US$9.4 billion, the prime operating revenue was US$8.4 billion and the tax revenue was US$425 million.
- The development zone follows the concept of growing together with enterprises in the zone, setting up working guidelines looking for ways to succeed, instead of seeking excuses for failure. It insists on the highest standards of planning and construction and pays attention to the five particular industries, namely automobiles and parts, food and beverages, electrical motors and devices, medicines and medical device and finally, textiles.
- Until now, 669 enterprises have made a base here, including 13 Fortune 500 companies, such as Ford, Lear Interior System Co. Ltd., Visteon, Faurecia, Johnson Controls Inc., Baosteel Group Corporation, Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola and COFCO Corporation. In addition, other well-known enterprises and listed companies are in the zone, such as Huiren Group Co. Ltd., Huangshanghuang Group, Lvziyao, Dali Foods Group Co. Ltd., Glory Medical Co. Ltd., Minfa Aluminium Co. Ltd. Tellhow Sci-Tech Co. Ltd., Zhongmu Co. Ltd. and Tianjin Baodi Co. Ltd.
- Xiaolan is actively supporting the general demands put forward by Jinagxi Province, to “promote industrial development, accelerate a well-off life, cultivate a green environment and to make Jiangxi better”. Alongside this, according to the idea of “big investment, large promotion and quality service”, Xiaolan is trying to make pillar industries stronger and better, make the development platform richer and more innovative and make the industrial real estate larger, so that Xiaolan can be grow into a modern industrial town.
