To raise the safety standard of the catering industry, the Occupational Safety & Health Council launched the "Outstanding OSH Restaurant-Pilot Scheme on Catering Safety Accreditation", which aims to help catering establishments to improve their OSH standards by adopting 5S good housekeeping practices and subsidise purchases of proper safety equipment. Under the Pilot Scheme, OSHC will provide qualified restaurants with safety trainings in the form of "catering service". OSHC consultants will visit the restaurants during their catering intermissions to demonstrate and teach OSH knowledge to their front-line staff and managers.
