Pingxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ).
Established in 1993.
Obtained Jiangxi government’s approval as a provincial-level zone in 1995.
Gained State Council endorsement as a state-level zone in 2010.
Area covering 57.6 square kilometers.
With a population of 120,000 people.
Important part of Pingxiang City.
Main region for city’s expansion to the north and south.
Achieved main business incomes of RMB $60 billion and contributed RMB $20 million to government revenue in 2013.
360 industrial enterprises result from investments of RMB $5.2 billion, of which US$60 million came from overseas.
Follows a strategy of industrialization and urbanization.
Adheres to a “Three Parks and Six Base” industrial economy and a “Three Axis and Three Hearts” format of urban functional zoning.
The Shanghai-Kunming State Highway and the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway extend in an east-west direction.
Pingxiang Station on the Hangzhou-Changsha High-Speed Railway will open in September 2014.
