The list of Politically Exposed Persons (“PEP”) is useful for Subscribers for the conducting Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”) analysis. Therefore, it is highly advisable for Subscribers to consult their own legal advisers whether such subject person is regarded as a PEP for the purpose of the Subscribers’ need in compliance with their respective legal and/or regulatory obligations. Note: Pursuant to Hong Kong SFC’s Guideline on AML &amp; CTF (2023-06 Edit), licensed institutes are required to perform CDD on both Hong Kong and non-Hong Kong PEP checks. DISCLAIMERMember/Subscriber may search by entering both English and/or Chinese name fields. This search may only generate those records having a positive match withBOTH English and Chinese name fields of our records. The use of this "two" name fields search will deduct two search units from the User's account. The Court Lead Search will not display the name of a defendant for his/her fresh appearance before a criminal court as information of fresh cases will normally not be shown on the daily court lists. In addition, names of criminal case defendants/respondents aged under 16 will be kept anonymous by the Court and accordingly will not be shown in the Court Lead Search result. Members/Subscriber has an option of using different input methods for Court Lead Search: Single target subject input – Subscriber may input the target subjects individually in the search field to perform the Court Lead Search, ORTarget Subjects BATCH input – Subscriber may upload a Target Subjects List containing all the Target Subjects to be searched in the Excel table provided to perform the Court Lead Search in one lot.  1.&nbsp;  Pre-filing Trademark Search: 

The trademark registration is basically run on a &ldquo;first-serve&rdquo; basis. Therefore, an application would not be easily accepted if it containing words/figures that have already been registered in other trademarks. In order to simplify the process, the applicant is required to prepare the samples (9cm x 9cm) for a registration search by the tentative opinions or suggested modifications on the samples. Once the sample of the trademark is confirmed, the application can then proceed.

 2.&nbsp;Application: 

A report will be returned from the Trade Marks Registry within 2-3 months after the submission of application. The restricted items will be clearly shown in the report.

 3. &nbsp; Posting on the gazette: 

Once the application has been accepted by the Trade Marks Registry, it will be published in the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Journal for 3 months. Within this 3 months period, anyone can view your trademark and may lodge opposition to it. If no objection is raised within the prescribed time period, then an application can be filed for registration certificate.
