Brief introduction to single-cell protein
UniProtein（SCP）: it uses the microorganisms and takes natural gas as the sole carbon source to obtain dried red-brown, dustless particles with a diameter of 150-200 &mu;m after fermentation and purification process. SCP&rsquo;s main component (%)is as follows: crude protein&mdash;70.6, crude fat&mdash;9.8, ash&mdash;7.1, crude fiber&mdash;0.7, nitrogen-free extract&mdash;11.8. It is a non-genetically modified product; and its amino acid composition is reasonable with no special smell and good palatability. Its quality is not subject to seasonal and climatic effects, and therefore has a long shelf life. The product has been approved by the European Commission Directive 95/33/EC as the protein source for fish, beef, pork, chicken and other feed.
