The Bureau of Economic & Technical Cooperation of Dongliao County

Dongliao County is located in mid-south of Jilin Province, between the stretching area of Changbai Mountain and the transitional area of Songliao Plain. The county covers an area of 2186 square kilometers, governs over 13 townships (towns) and 234 administrative villages with a total population of 360,000. The county has been rated to be among the first group of state-level ecological model counties, a national base for grain production, a national advanced county with one million acres of forest plantation, a national support county with alternative industries for resource-based cities, a national advanced county for cultural building, a township with Chinese folk culture and art (Manchu paper-cutting) and an area where Chinese duet arts originated.
Dongliao County is the birthplace of Dongliao River culture, Kanto culture and Manchu folk culture which have a very high historical value and development value. Folk cultural products like Manchu paper-cutting, fish bone painting, gourd painting, and root carving have rich connotations, unique styles and distinctive features. Duet arts is rooted in the local folk culture and renowned throughout the country. Actors like YAN Xuejing and others are actively performing on the stages all over the country. Art troupes like Shan Xing troupe tour extensively all over the Northeast of China and enjoy a high reputation. National Water Conservancy Scenic spot&mdash;&mdash;Julongtan Reservoir is famous in China.
