PT Norwest Industry is a 100% subsidiary and member of the multinational Pearl Group. The Pearl Group has been in apparel business since 1987 and in 2001 achieved a combined sales turnover of US$200 million. The Group has a worldwide network of divisional offices in Germany, Holland, UK, USA, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India and Indonesia. Besides 100% owned manufacturing facilities in Indonesia and India, the Group has joint venture factories in Bangladesh and Cambodia. By the year 2003, the Group is poised to have Joint Venture factories in Mainland China as well.
The PT Norwest factory is located in Central Java-Indonesia in the port city of Semarang. The Tanjung Emas port in Semarang is regularly and efficiently serviced by most of the leading shipping lines. The PT Norweat factory is located in the Tanjung Emas Export Processing Zone (TEPZ), which is a two-minute drive from the port. Location in this "bonded" zone beside facilitating quick and easy import & export, also exempts us from the red tape of customs clearances further enabling quick clearance of imports.
