The Broadcast Design Group (BDG) is a company established in Hong Kong serving television production, broadcast and interactive television projects throughout the region and North America. Most recently, it was commissioned to design, build and provide project management to Wharf Cable, Project Management for the NBC Asia's installations in Hong Kong and, as well, for Star TV and the Korean Broadcast System (KBS). Other activities include the development of VOD/ITV applications in association with Microsoft and Sybase for the local and international market.
BDG provides five levels of service; broadcast/cable systems engineering consulting, design, project management (client representation), installation/commissioning and documentation creation and management. A newly developing area is that of consultancy and training specific to the operational and engineering aspects of SDI.
As can be seen from the attached key person CV's, BDG has a great deal of cexperience in the SDI environment. This direction began at the CBC, Toronto in 1988 where Mr. James Snelling held the position of Senior Designer (production facilities and routing systems). As part of that project it wrote the first SDI routing specification and control system for SDI routing. It is very proud of this fact and feel unabashed in saying that BDG has more experience than any other firms of its type in the fields of SDI design, project management and installation.
A newly formed subsidiary Company called ITV Systems Engineering is working within the burgeoning VOD/ITV market. Currently, the company is developing applications for Wharf Cable in concert with Microsoft and regional telephone and cable companies.
