 Blue Pyrenees   Estate 's history is mostly French as it was established in 1963 as Chateau Remy and was originally the Australian outpost of  Remy Martin , the French house of Cognac and Champagne fame (Louis XIII). The vineyards are nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees ranges, part of the cool climate Western Victorian wine producing region of Australia, known as the Pyrenees. The name was changed to Blue Pyrenees in the 1980’s after the blue appearance of the ranges in certain climatic conditions. True to origin all the wines are grown, made and bottled on the Estate, including methode champenoise sparkling wines. Since 2002 Blue Pyrenees has been Australian owned and is most famous for its Midnight Cuvee and premium red wines such as Estate Red blend and Richardson series wines
