Adega Ponte da Barca

Adega Ponte da Barca has taking care, since 1963, of a unique wine and cultural heritage located in a singular terroir crossed by the rivers Lima, Vade and Vez, in the heart of Vinho Verde Region that cover the whole Northwest of Portugal, on the west coast of the Iberian Peninsula. This Region faces the Atlantic Ocean with its lush green landscape and a temperate climate. Grape vines have naturally thrived here for over 2000 years.
Presently has about 1,000 members, representing an area of 900 hectares of vineyards, in the municipalities of Ponte da Barca and Arcos de Valdevez, where the two main grape varieties of Vinho Verde Region are privileged: Loureiro (white) and Vinh&atilde;o (red).
The Adega Ponte da Barca intends to remain faithful to its principle "The Origin Matters", therefore, its main mission is the production of genuine wines that impress by the pleasure from being shared in good company and in moderation. Due to the dedication and enthusiasm of the vintners, Adega Ponte da Barca wines are known for their vibrant fruit aromas with floral notes, moderate alcohol, therefore less calories, and refreshing qualities - a combination that makes them one of the most versatile partners with food. They are therefore perfect wines for appetizers and an ideal pairing for salads, seafood, fish and Asian cuisine, marriage even well with pasta and white meats.
These wines are born from a long tradition where nature's beauty remains intact, vines fruits grow in total harmony with the civilization. Varieties like Loureiro, Alvarinho, Arinto, Trajadura, Vinh&atilde;o, and Espadeiro grow into granite soils, cliffs and valleys, where the stillness of beds of rivers and forests teeming with life, convey to wines freshness and unique flavors. The wines embody the combination of celebrating friendship and joy with all the pleasure that nature allows.
With a growing visibility at national and international markets, the Adega Ponte da Barca brand is present today in dozens of countries and has been widely praised by specialized wine experts and consumers, with innumerable prizes obtained in Japan, Russia, Germany, Poland, Brazil and USA, among others.
