The presented CH by Chocapalha 2009 is well made from 100% Touriga Nacional. The grapes, which were previously de-stemmed, went through a pre-fermenting maceration at low temperatures. Fermentation took place in the lagares with successive pressings by robotz for 15 days with temperature controlled not exceeding 26ºC. The aging and malolactic fermentation was effected in 100% new French oak barriques for 22 months, after which the wine was bottled. This Portuguese red wine features a deep violet hue with good concentration in the nose. It flaunts a rich perfume with notes of very ripe black fruits and floral notes, well combined with the flavor of vanilla deriving from the French oak where it stayed for a period of 22 months. In the mouth, it features mature tannins and an excellent body. The final in the mouth is rich and elegant.
