Information about the Wine:
Our grapes are hand picked fully riped just to keep their balance and their full aromatic expression. The maceration is long (about 3 weeks) and slow in order to let the tannic components infuse and create the body of the wine. The ageing of "Cassagnes de La Nerthe" is made partly in oak barrels (20%) for 12 months, and partly kept in stainless steel vat on fine lees until the final blending.
The colour is deep red with brilliant purple border. The nose is intense on red fruits tones with some black cherry notes. A beautiful freshness on the palate, with roundness. The finish is long with notes of ripe red fruit highlighted by sweet spices (sandalwood, laurel, cedar). Grenache and Syrah dominate the blend providing both complexity and balance, while ageing in oak barrels adds a touch of elegance.
