Bayanshira is local wine variety cultivated in ancient periods in Azerbaijan. In the poem of "Iskendarname" written by Nizami Gandjavi in 1200-1203, mentioned that the Barda city in Aran region of Azerbaijan paid local wine tax to Alexander the Great which was produced in that region.
