The name is derived from that of the valley which lies at the heart of the region, surrounded by the sub-districts of Dickoya, Maskeliya, Talawakelle, Bogawanthalawa and Nanu-Oya. Dimbula teas which are characterized as ‘High Grown’ are noted for their body and strength, and a powerful aroma.
Nuwara Eliya
Teas from the highest region on the island, rich in character are often described as the “champagne” of Ceylon teas.
Uva
Uva, on the eastern slopes of the central mountains, produces teas with a distinctive mellow flavor and pungency whose reputation stretches world-wide. Uva teas deserve to be enjoyed as a self-drinking tea, especially during the Uva quality season from July to September each year.
