Tasting Note

Vinification
Manual harvest to 16kg baskets. Fermentation at 18-20°C in stainless steel tanks for ~20 days. Ageing minimum 3 years in stainless steel tanks before bottling. Blended 20-30% with wine that has spent at least 6 months with French oak. Estate bottled.
Climate and Soil
Typically 8-22°C. Lows 4-5°C; highs 26-27°C. Humidity 60-85%. 11-13.5 hrs sun per day. 850mm rain per year. Harvest in July. Sandy soil; fine and coarse sand. Good drainage. High in mineral content, especially iron; soil has a dull red appearance. Weakly alkaline. Natural fertiliser added during winter.
