The WAVE 1000 series Smart Ethernet Media Converter converts Ethernet 10/100Base-TX signals into 100Base-FX signals. It is a highly integrated layer-2 switch with an optimized 10/100Mbps switch system. There are two kinds of Ethernet media converters, the conventional SC Duplex transceivers and WBR (WDM Bi-directional SC Receptacle) transceivers.
