- The NeuGait is intended to provide ankle dorsiflexion for patients with foot drop due to an upper motor neuron injury or disease (such as a stroke, multiple sclerosis, incomplete spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy or traumatic brain injury).
- During swing phase of gait, the stimulator of the product outputs electrical stimulation pulses that are delivered to nerves and muscles in the affected leg through the surface electrodes; thus, it provides dorsiflexion of the foot and may improve the patient’s gait.
- The product may also prevent disuse atrophy, maintain or increase joint range of motion, facilitate muscle re-education and increase local blood flow.
