Dazzle and Glaze
This series is styled from the works of the Chinese porcelain master, He Chao Zhong (1504~1582), or He Lai. Being a well-known master of porcelain carving both in and outside of China, he was particularly good at carving figures of deity and Buddha. His art was an agglomeration of various schools. He was trained traditionally but his works did not adhere rigidly to tradition. Instead of using adornments that were mediocre and superfluous, he focused on the beauty of form and texture, creating the unique art of the He-Style and producing works of very high artistic value.
