An aluminium block has to be extruded and skive machine is used to create thin fins on the aluminium block. Aging would be done after fin skiving is completed to achieve different tempers (e.g. T5, T6, etc). Various kinds of secondary machining, such as drilling, milling and tapping shall follow with different types of surface treatments.
Dimensions;
A. Fin height: ≤ 100mm
B. Fin gap: 0.2mm ≤ X ≤ 6.0mm
C. Width: ≤ 1000.0mm
D. Length: ≤ 4000.0mm
E. Fin thickness: 0.1mm ≤ X ≤ 2.5mm
COMPARISON BETWEEN SKIVE FINS AND OTHER HEAT SINKS
- Due to the tonnages limit of extrusion machine, the width of the extrusion heat sink is limited in a standard of range. On the other hand, Skive Fins Heat Sink can be processed to unlimited width.
- Comparing with the conventional heat sink extrusion, the tooth roughness of Skive Fins Heat Sink is relatively high. It provides a larger surface area to enhance the cooling performance.
- Comparing with ordinary glued heat sink, there is no additional welding materials or adhesives on the Skive Fins Heat Sink. The manufacturing process of Skive Fins Heat Sink is relatively simple, efficient and Eco-friendly.
