This Sambuca is a liquor made from a base of distilled elderflowers called Sambucus Nigra and from infusion of different kinds of anise. It has been produced since the early 1900s on the basis of a recipe of the monks at Certosa di Trisulti. The particular formula of ingredients include alcohol of excellent quality, water from the fresh and clear Ernici mountains springs, fine and highly soluble sugars, combinations of different kinds of anise and distilled elderflowers, which give this Sambuca a unique taste, extremely pleasant and markedly distinct aroma. Thanks to its fragrant bouquet, as well as its smooth drinking, it is excellent if accompanied by coffee, dark chocolate and for the preparation of great fresh desserts made with ricotta cheese and chocolate.
