The Vivienne Westwood 2024 Sun Collection references a painterly palette – washing the face

with broad strokes of colour inspired by the work of Italian 17th -century painter Artemisia

Gentileschi, who was the first female member of the Accademia Delle Arti del Disegno,

Florence. Futuristic iridescent and metallic materials contrast with the soft and playful

Baroque palette, across bold vintage inspired silhouettes – inspired by the glitterati of the

1970’s and 80’s.

The impact and choice of raw materials to create the collection have been selected with the

upmost consideration. The hand-made acetate frames and temple tips in the collection are

crafted in an innovative Eastman material ‘Acetate Renew’, made from 60% bio-based content

and 40% certified recycled content. The bio-based material is formed of renewable wood pulp

cellulose from FSC certified sources. The recycled content is formed of waste plastic diverted

from landfill, which would otherwise not be recycled.

The packaging of the collection has also been carefully considered with a recycled by product

leather case, organic cotton bag and recycled polyester cloth – all produced with 100% green

energy.
